Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CyberVantage ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users, including mentees, mentors, and visitors.

2. Definitions

• "Platform" refers to the CyberVantage website and all associated services.
• "Mentee" refers to a user who books and attends mentoring sessions.
• "Mentor" refers to a cybersecurity professional who offers mentoring services through the Platform.
• "Session" refers to a one-on-one mentoring meeting booked through the Platform.
• "Content" refers to all text, images, data, and materials uploaded to or transmitted through the Platform.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain the security of your password and account credentials.
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Platform.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

CyberVantage offers subscription plans to access platform features:

• Basic Plan ($29/month): 5 bookings per month, no service fees on bookings, community access, and browse mentor profiles.
• Pro Plan ($79/month): Unlimited bookings, no service fees, priority support, exclusive content, and full platform access.

Subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for the applicable subscription fee. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing cycle.

5. Session Bookings & Fees

Mentees may book sessions with mentors at the mentor's listed hourly rate. A 10% platform fee is applied to each booking to cover operational costs, payment processing, and platform maintenance.

Session payments are processed at the time of booking. Mentors receive payouts for completed sessions after the platform fee is deducted.

6. Cancellation & Refund Policy

• Cancellations made 24+ hours before the session: Full refund issued to the mentee.
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session: No refund, unless the mentor cancels.
• Mentor-initiated cancellations: Full refund issued to the mentee regardless of timing.
• No-shows by mentor: Full refund issued and the incident is reviewed by our team.
• Subscription cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds for unused time.

Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and returned to the original payment method.

7. Mentor Responsibilities

As a mentor on CyberVantage, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your qualifications, experience, and expertise.
• Conduct sessions professionally and deliver the mentorship services as described.
• Attend all confirmed sessions on time or cancel with appropriate notice.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding mentee information and session discussions.
• Comply with all applicable laws and professional standards.
• Not solicit mentees to transact outside the Platform.

8. Mentee Responsibilities

As a mentee on CyberVantage, you agree to:

• Attend sessions on time and be prepared for the discussion topic.
• Treat mentors with respect and professionalism.
• Provide honest and constructive feedback through the review system.
• Not record sessions without the mentor's explicit consent.
• Not share session content or meeting links with third parties.

9. Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. CyberVantage does not store your credit card information directly. By using the Platform, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Mentor payouts are processed via Stripe Connect and are subject to Stripe's processing schedules and requirements.

10. Intellectual Property & Content

All Platform branding, design, and code are the property of CyberVantage. Users retain ownership of content they create. By posting content on the Platform, you grant CyberVantage a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute that content in connection with the Platform.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Platform content without explicit permission.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

12. Limitation of Liability

CyberVantage is a platform that connects mentees with mentors. We do not guarantee specific outcomes from mentoring sessions. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• CyberVantage is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
• We do not endorse or guarantee the qualifications, advice, or recommendations of any mentor.
• Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Prohibited Conduct

• Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate illegal activity.
• Harassing, abusing, or threatening other users.
• Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your identity or qualifications.
• Attempting to circumvent the Platform's payment system.
• Scraping, data mining, or automated collection of Platform content.
• Uploading malicious code, viruses, or other harmful content.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to the Platform or its users. You may also delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately, though provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
